Slovenia National Museum of Contemporary History

The developments of the right in Europe is very important to remember, Hungary was a perpetrator of crimes against Humanity, genocide, Orban the President of Hungary is recalling the demons of the Arrow Cross, which kill 400,000 Hungarian Jews need to be held accountable:

"After the Nyilaskeresztes (Arrow Cross) coup d'état on October 15, thousands of Jews of Budapest were sent on foot to the Austrian border in death marches, most forced laborers under Hungarian Army command so far were deported  included Bergen-Belsen and two ghettos were set up in Budapest. A small international ghetto consisted of several starred houses under the protection of neutral powers in the Újlipótváros district. Switzerland was allowed to issue 7,800 Schutzpasses, Sweden 4,500, and the Vatican, Portugal and Spain 3,300 combined.
The big Budapest Ghettp  was set up and walled in the Erzsébetváros part of Budapest on November 29. Nyilas raids and mass executions occurred in both ghettos regularly. In addition, in the two months between November 1944 and February 1945, the Nyilas shot 10,000–15,000 Jews on the banks of the Danube. Soviet troops liberated the big Budapest Ghetto on January 18, 1945, a irony since the extreme right looking to Russia. On the Buda side of the town, the encircled Nyilas continued their murders until the Soviets took Buda on February 13."

Italians committed Genocide, has never hold accountable,  but Slovenia left with the foot print can never be obliterated, while Trieste have a concentration camp Risiera di San Sabba. Occupants of Risiera di San Sabba were transported to the German Nazi concentration camp at  Auschwitz- Birkenau in Occupied Poland. The majority of prisoners came from Friui the Julian March and Ljubljana.

Slovenia was divided in three to the east in Prekmurje the Hungarians carry Genocide, Ljubljana under German occupation, to prevent any contact with the Partisans, Germany wire the city 30 Km, and last Italians send Slovens to concentrations camps.

Under the Italian army commander Mario Roatta Genocide began  with the summary executions, hostage-taking and hostage killing, reprisals, internments.

"(...) if necessary don't shy away from using cruelty. It must be a complete cleansing. We need to intern all the inhabitants and put Italian families in their place."

Roatta in his Circolare No.3: issued orders to kill hostages, demolish houses and whole villages: his idea was to deport all inhabitants of Slovenia and replace them with Italian settlers

The camp at Rab, built near the village of Kampor, was one of a number of such camps established along the Adriatic coast to accommodate Slovenian and Croatian prisoners. Opened in July 1942, it was officially termed: Camp for the concentration and internment of war civilians - Rab (Campo di concentramento per internati civili di Guerra – Arbe).
The camp in Rab and Gonars by the Italian Border
When dealing with such a race as Slavic - inferior and barbarian - we must not pursue the carrot, but the stick policy.... We should not be afraid of new victims.... The Italian border should run across the Brenner Pass, Monte Nevoso amd Dinaric Alps... I would say we can easily sacrifice 500,000 barbaric Slavs for 50,000 Italians....
— Benito Mussolini, speech held in Pula, 22 February 1922
The first transport of 5,343 internees (1,643 of whom were children) arrived two days after its establishment, on February 23, 1942, from the Province of Ljubljana and from the other two Italian concentration camps, the Rab camp  and the camp in Monigo.
The camp was disbanded on September 8, 1943, immediately after the Italian armistace.
Every effort was made to erase any evidence of this black spot of  Italian History:
The camp's buildings were destroyed, the materials were used to build a nearby kindergarten  and the site was turned into a meadow.
In 1973 a sacrarium  was created by Miodrag Zivkovic. Remains of 453 Slovenian and Croatian victims were transferred into its two underground crypts Apart from the sacrarium no other evidence of the camp remains and even many locals are unaware of it.

While German kept records, the Italians had Sloven artist in the camps they kept the record, an sad Italians dehumanize the Slovens, the treated the Jews just prisoners, before send for Genocide.
